| dc.description | ABSTRACT This research aimed to analyze anxiety and coping mechanisms to deal with SARS-COV- 2. The study was carried out at the military GCB Nº 31 Machala-Galapagos headquarters Nº 11 in Riobamba. It is essential to define anxiety, which is considered the manifestation that people develop before a situation that is expected to cause danger. In this case, the spread of SARS-COV-2 has already taken the lives of more than one million people worldwide. The duties of the population studied have made them people at high risk of being infected since they are constantly exposed to medical and health personnel in the city and are therefore at risk of presenting anxiety. This study was a quantitative, descriptive, field, and bibliographic. According to the temporal sequence, the study was cross-sectional and prospective. The study sample consisted of 100 officers and volunteers, divided into hierarchies ranging from soldiers to commandants. The Zung Anxiety Self-Assessment Scale and the Modified Coping Strategies Scale (EEC-M) were used as data collection instruments. The information was processed using the SPSS statistical package. The results showed that mild anxiety prevails over moderate and marked anxiety. The study determined that the most frequently used coping strategy was problem-solving. | dc.description.abstract | RESUMEN La investigación tuvo como objetivo analizar la ansiedad y el afrontamiento al SARS- COV-2 en los militares del GCB Nº “Machala” de la Brigada Blindada Galápagos Nº 11 de Riobamba. Es importante definir la ansiedad, misma que se considera como la manifestación que las personas desarrollan ante una situación que se prevé causará peligro, en este caso la propagación del SARS-COV-2, virus que ya ha tomado la vida de más de un millón de personas en el mundo. Las obligaciones de la población estudiada los han convertido en personas con alto riesgo de contagio, ya que asistir al asistir al personal médico y sanitario de la ciudad están constantemente expuestos, por lo tanto, corren el riesgo de presentar ansiedad. La investigación tuvo un enfoque cuantitativo, por su nivel fue descriptiva, según su diseño fue de campo y bibliográfica, y por su secuencia temporal fue transversal y prospectiva. La muestra de estudio estuvo conformada por 100 oficiales y voluntarios, divididos en rangos que van desde Soldado hasta Mayor. Como instrumentos de recolección de datos se encontraron la Escala de Autoevaluación de la Ansiedad de Zung y la Escala de Estrategia de Coping Modificada (EEC-M). La información se procesó utilizando el programa estadístico SPSS. Dentro de los resultados se obtuvo que la ansiedad leve prevalece sobre la ansiedad moderada y marcada, y que la estrategia de afrontamiento más utilizada es la solución de problemas. | es_ES |
