| Resumen : | El presente trabajo de investigación fue realizado con el fin de determinar el nivel de información de pacientes con Diabetes Mellitus en la ciudad de Riobamba, Ecuador. La población estuvo constituida por 40 pacientes, de un rango de 30 a 99 años de edad, siendo más frecuente en el género femenino con el 60%. Respecto al conocimiento sobre la diabetes el 68% de los pacientes si poseen conocimientos y el 33% no tiene conocimientos sobre la Diabetes Mellitus, respecto a la información recibida sobre educación en diabetes, el 10% de pacientes nunca obtuvieron educación acerca de la Diabetes, mientras que el 45% refiere que algunas veces recibió dicha educación y la poca información que recibieron los pacientes durante la evolución de su enfermedad fue proporcionada por el personal de enfermería siendo relevante con el 45%, mientras que el 25% fue brindada por parte del médico general. Sobre los temas recibidos en cuanto a Diabetes como resultado el 10% indicaron que no recibieron ninguna información sin embargo se aprecia que tampoco se brindó información sobre las complicaciones de la diabetes, por lo tanto, la población encuestada respecto al nivel de conocimiento adquirido para el manejo de su enfermedad manifiesta que el 40% se siente poco capacitado, el 35% se encuentra algo capacitado y el 25% de pacientes refiere estar nada capacitado para manejar adecuadamente su salud. | Descripción : | The present research work was made with the aim to determine the information level of the patients with Diabetes Mellitus in the city of Riobamba, Ecuador. The population was based on 40 patients, between the ranges from 30 to 99 years, being the female genre the most frequent with the 60%. According to the knowledge about Diabetes, meanwhile the 45% comments that sometimes acquired the mentioned education and the little information that received the patients during the evolution of their illness was provided by the Nursing staff, which was relevant to the 45%, meanwhile the 25% was performed by part of the general physician. About the received topics with regard to Diabetes, as a result, the 10% indicate that they did not receive any information. However, it is appreciated that the information about Diabetes complications was not received, either. That is why, the surveyed population related to the acquired level of knowledge for the management of their illness mentions that the 40% feels a low- trained, the 35% find themselves with a slight knowledge, and the 25% do not have the knowledge enough to manage their health, properly. |
