| Resumen : | El turismo comunitario emerge como una herramienta para mejorar la habilidad de las comunidades rurales para manejar recursos turísticos con la participación de sus habitantes. Rio Limón del cantón Bucay es una de estas comunidades; es el Centro turístico más visitado en el cantón por turistas en su mayoría de diferentes países alrededor del mundo, realidad que exige con urgencia el aprendizaje del idioma inglés. Al respecto las autoridades han tratado de hacer algo, por ejemplo la prefectura del Guayas desarrollo una guía turística en inglés, pero desde el punto de vista de los comuneros esto no ha solucionado la problemática porque ellos no saben inglés. Así, el objetivo de esta investigación es evaluar los contenidos de esta guía en base a la realidad de los 25 nativos que viven allí y así poder sugerir posibles estrategias que permitan utilizar este recurso efectiva y eficientemente en beneficio de toda la comunidad. El estudio fue desarrollado en el lugar exacto donde fue encontrado el problema, para la recolección de los datos se utilizó un test diagnóstico y un software especializado, los resultados fueron analizados e interpretados basados en el marco teórico y descritos para entender por completo la naturaleza del problema, esto con la ayuda del método etnográfico, todos estos factores característicos de la investigación cualitativa. Los resultados reflejaron que la población no alcanza ni siquiera el nivel A1 y que el nivel del inglés utilizado en la guía alcanza un 11.9 dentro de ATOS el cual corresponde a un nivel B2 según el MCER, en consecuencia se concluye que aunque una guía turística es una muy buena herramienta para mejorar este servicio, dicho documento no puede ser utilizado efectivamente por los Shuar, porque el nivel que ellos tienen dista mucho del nivel de inglés presentado en este documento. |
| Descripción : | Community Based Tourism emerges as a tool to strengthen the ability of rural community organizations to manage tourism resources with the participation of the local people. One of these communities is Rio Limón from Bucay; this is the most visited Tourist Center in the town, and the majority of visitors come from different countries around the world, for that reason the necessity of knowing English is extremely urgent. The local authorities have done something in this respect, for instance, there is a Tourist handbook in English developed by the prefecture of Guayas, but from the perspective of natives it does not solved the problematic because they do not know English. Therefore the purpose of this research is to evaluate the contents of the mentioned Handbook based on the reality of the 25 natives who live here to suggest some possible strategies to use this resource efficiently and effectively in benefit of all the community. The study was developed in the exactly place where the problematic was identified, to gather the necessary data, it was applied a diagnostic test and a specialized software, the result were analyzed and interpreted based on the theoretical framework and described to deeply understand its nature with the help of the ethnographic method, all of these being characteristics of a qualitative study. The results reflected that the population do not have even an A1 level, and the kind of English used in the handbook fits the level 11.9 in the ATOS average, equivalent to the level B2 according to the CEFR; in consequence, it is concluded that even the handbook is a wonderful resource to foster tourism service improvement, it cannot be used effectively by Shuars, because the level of English they have is so far to the level of English presented in this document. |
