| dc.description | ABSTRACT Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis is the rheumatic disease that most frequently occurs during childhood and adolescence. The wide range of clinical manifestations, clinical forms of presentation and complications makes the definitive diagnosis of the disease difficult and complex. Early diagnosis and proper treatment are vital to minimize joint and systemic damage. The objective of this research was to carry out a bibliographic review to obtain updated information on diagnostic and therapeutic advances related to the management of this disease. For this, a basic, descriptive and cross-sectional investigation was carried out consisting of a bibliographic review of documents published in the last 5 years. A total of 41 documents were identified, of which 21 were used in the study. The information was obtained from regional (Latindex, Lilacs, Scielo, and Redalyc) and high-impact databases (Scopus, Medline, PubMed, and Ice Web of Science). The main results include the description of the clinical and epidemiological manifestations; the design of a general diagnostic algorithm and in each of the clinical forms of the disease and the identification of therapeutic elements for the treatment of juvenile idiopathic arthritis. It is concluded that the diagnosis of this disease is delayed, however, it is necessary to maintain a level of permanent updating to early identify the elements of clinical suspicion of the disease, which facilitates early diagnosis and with this and adequate treatment, minimizing the risk of complications. | dc.description.abstract | RESUMEN La Artritis Idiopática Juvenil es la enfermedad reumática que con mayor frecuencia se presenta durante la infancia y la adolescencia. La variada gama de manifestaciones clínicas, formas clínicas de presentación y complicaciones hace difícil y complejo el diagnóstico definitivo de la enfermedad. El diagnóstico precoz y el tratamiento adecuado son vitales para minimizar el daño articular y sistémico. El objetivo de esta investigación fue realizar una revisión bibliográfica para obtener información actualizada sobre los avances diagnósticos y terapéuticos relacionados con el manejo de esta enfermedad. Para esto se realizó una investigación básica, descriptiva y transversal consistente en una revisión bibliográfica de documentos publicados en los últimos 5 años. Se identificaron un total de 41 documentos de los cuales 21 fueron utilizados en el estudio. La información se obtuvo de bases de datos regionales (Latindex, Lilacs, Scielo y Redalyc) y de alto impacto (Scopus, Medline, PubMed e Ice Web of Sciencie). Como principales resultados destacan la descripción de las manifestaciones clínicas y epidemiológicas; el diseño de un algoritmo diagnóstico general y en cada una de las formas clínicas de la enfermedad y la identificación de los elementos terapéuticos para el tratamiento de la Artritis idiopática juvenil. Se concluye que el diagnóstico de esta enfermedad es demorado, sin embargo, es necesario mantener un nivel de actualización permanente para identificar precozmente los elementos de sospecha clínica de la enfermedad; lo que facilita el diagnóstico precoz y con esto un tratamiento adecuado, minimizando así el riesgo de presencia de complicaciones. | es_ES |
